In these constructions literal space folds into conceptual space via intuitive geometries. Expressing the unknown within the colliding expanse of chaos plaster, foam, card, and found fabric create a series of seemingly haphazard forms sculpted into a harmonious structure. These pieces evolve from sketches or are simply led by the materials themselves with the process deliberately evident.

I am an artist/sculptor living and working in Hackney. I have exhibited widely both here and abroad. Recent shows include Lido Stores Margate, Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, Studio 1.1 London, Royal Society of Sculptors Summer Exhibition London, Exeter Contemporary.

The handmade is integral to the way I work, as is the use of everyday materials. The process is deliberately evident how the piece is made, how it is put together and how it operates in a given space. Pieces start from sketches or the material itself and whilst varying in scale and media explore and develop ideas on form, physicality and colour. Black annealed wire, straws, fabric and plaster are used to create geometric repetitive open forms almost on the verge of collapse whilst existing as a playful cohesive whole. The solid equivalents of the linear structures apply colour weight and texture metamorphosing these elements into a new state and scale and so the exploration and combinations continue.
